Honeymoons, Anniversaries and Blessings...
Poros is a beautiful island an hour from Athens, the Saga Hotel being one of its most notable hotels. The Alexopoulos
family specialise in providing you with a celebration for your special day in the most discreetly famous wedding
venue in Greece.
Many visitors like to combine a holiday with an Anniversary, Blessing or Renewal of Vows. Poros offers several beautiful
locations for this - Love Bay and Daskalio Island are just two examples - the details being easy enough for the Saga Hotel
to organise for you.
Honeymoon holidays, anniversary celebrations, blessings and renewals of vows, are all easily organised as they require no
legal or church officials. The Saga Hotel has some excellent celebration package deals on offer, which can be discussed and
varied according to your needs. Blessings and renewals of vows are re-affirmations of vows already made, before witnesses,
so the main matter is the choice of venue, someone to administer the vows and a celebration afterwards.
Marrying from the Saga Hotel...
For those unfamiliar with Greek wedding laws, the arrangements can appear rather daunting, particularly for non-Greeks.
Takis and Zefi can take the trouble out of your preparations by advising you on arrangements for the wedding and and dealing
with the Greek end of the paperwork.
Once all the preparations are made, couples can be married from the Saga Hotel, returning for their reception or honeymoon.
Zefi loves to cook for celebrations, her food being justly respected by the locals as well as her relatives. Anybody married
from the Saga Hotel becomes - however briefly - one of the Alexopoulos family, with all the support and assurance given to
a family bride and groom on the occasion of their wedding day.
There are two main kinds of weddings in Greece - Civil Ceremonies and Religious Weddings. Couples who have gone through
a Civil Ceremony sometimes arrange for a consisting of a Civil Ceremony followed by a blessing. Religious Weddings in
Greece mostly take place in Greek Orthodox churches, where at least one of the couple has been baptised into the Greek

The Wedding Anniversary Package is another couple-based holiday
celebrating the success of a marriage. It may very well involve a re-affirmation of vows and certainly is something that
would be to remember. The presence of a photographer may be optional.

Wedding Blessing Package : Prices on Request
Package includes the following :
- Welcome bottle of Greek champagne, bowl of organic fruit, bouquet of flowers.

- Arrangement of the Blessing at a suitable venue.
- Photographer with 20 photos including negatives.
- Candle lit Dinner on the night of the Blessing.
- Day at Love Bay.

The Wedding Blessing Package may be a re-affirmation
of vows by a couple in the presence of witnesses, probably friends or relatives, but an actual Blessing may involve a private
service in the presence of a minister, either in the hotel or at some other venue. This amounts to a marriage service except
that no legal register is signed and no certificate of marriage is issued. As this can be a complex matter, depending on the
guests and the degree of formality, the price will vary with the requirements of the couple.

Civil Wedding Package : Prices on Request
Package includes the following :
- Booking of Registry Office.
- Documentation including license fees and all legal costs and translations.
- Provision of two witnesses.
- Photographer with 50 photos including negatives.
- Bridal bouquet and Groom Boutonniêre
- Welcome bottle of Greek champagne, bowl of organic fruit, bouquet of flowers.
- Mayor's fees for the marriage performance.
- Wedding cake or traditional Greek Wedding sweet.
- One week's stay in a suite with Jacuzzi bathroom.
- All transfers from the airport to the Hotel (and back again).
- Day at Love Bay.

A full Greek Civil Wedding is a legal ceremony of marriage
involving the local Mayor or President of the Community, with the requirement for witnesses and completion of legal
formalities. The Saga Hotel can assist with the formalities and arrange dates and times for the ceremony, followed by suitable
reception and honeymoon arrangements. Zefi has experience in arranging weddings and would act as wedding planner for the
couple. |
Orthodox Greek Church Wedding Package : Prices on Request

An Orthodox Greek Church Wedding is a very ornate affair
that combines the legal ceremony with the religious ceremony. Additional paperwork would be needed, but this can be discussed
with the Saga Hotel. The bride would be married from the hotel, returning for the reception, which can be as simple or as
elaborate as desired. |
