...A Range of Attractions...

Moffat is in the Southern Uplands, an hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Its history in the wool trade and as a Victorian spa town are sources of much of its charm. The hills to the north and east were once the haunt of the Border Reivers. Golfers, bird watchers, walkers and cyclists, will all find something worth a visit.

Moffat has an excellent range of cafes, giftshops, and grocery shops, many in sight of the Moffat Ram in the High Street square.

There are other attractions in or near Moffat. The Beechgrove Sports Barn near the Moffat Academy offers a variety of indoor sports and a fitness gym, with tennis courts nearby. The nearest swimming pools are in Dumfries. The town has a good 18-hole golf course, a park with a boating lake, a putting green, water play feature and swings for children. There are two other parks in Moffat, one of which is near Well Road Centre and may be used for football matches. The other park is Station Park, a remarkable municipal park with some unusual features such as the Moffatasia...prepare to get wet, if you go there

The Hammerlands Centre in Moffat is well-known for its Moffat Fishery and a range of other activities. Groups staying at the Well Road Centre are near to this attraction which provides entertainment for all ages and a variety of interests.
