The Community Council was set up in 1975 after the reorganisation of local government in Scotland and the abolition of town councils. The Council consists of twelve members who are eligible for re-election every three years, meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month (excluding July) in the Reception room of Moffat Town Hall, High Street Moffat.
The Council has an important role as the link between the local community and Dumfries and Galloway Council. Agendas and minutes are available from Moffat Library, High Street, Moffat. Since its inception, the Council has been involved with a number of projects in the town, which have included :
